Flag retirement ceremony

The Stroud's invited us to go watch the retirement of the Macey's flag with them. I
thought the kids would enjoy this, and they did once all of the speakers were finished.
It was really hard to hear from where we were so it was hard for them to sit quietly and
patiently. Kel wore his scout shirt so he was able to go down and help carry all of the
old flags to the fire. It's so awesome to be able to see your own kids participate in events
like this.
Taya not really excited about the whole ceremony

They could feel the fire from where we were
and it was already too hot.

Kel waiting to help carry the flags.

The soldiers burning the Macey's flag. What an amazing moment!

Movie night at the park

We had to keep with tradition and go to movie night at the park with the Nelsons and Harrisons. The kids love doing this, I think mostly because of the treats. It's a great time though and it gets us out of the house.

The Bean Museum

We decided to take a family trip to the bean museum. The kids thought it was just too cool to touch real lizards and snakes...ugh.

Taya's first haircut

We finally had to cut off her beautiful long hair. We just needed something more managable, but doesn't she look darling.

Camping in a tent

Our family decided to pack up and go camping for a night. We had lots of fun roasting hot dogs, swinging on our home made swing, making horns out of wood and of course our new friend... the deer! It was amazing, this deer hung out with us all evening and the kids fed it cookies an marshmellows.

Sydnie & Kian's graduations

Sydnie graduated from kindergarten this year and Kian graduated from preschool. It's hard to believe that they can grow up so fast.

Easter

Easter was a pretty exciting day. It started out normal, we got up and saw our treats the easter bunny left, went to church, came home had lunch and then Taya fell off of the bar stool and broke her arm. I spent the rest of the evening in ER with her but I have to say, she was a real trooper.
